There are hills, valleys, mountaintops, and bottom of the sea experiences in everyones lives.  But, I’m thinking that in a day to day life there are a lot of potholes.

Some of these things are little bumps that are barely noticed and sometimes just ignored.

The road is smoothing out and then there is a pothole that no matter which way you go in the lane you are going to hit it.  You see it coming, try to plan how to avoid it, and there are no options but to slow down, hit it,  and assess the damages afterwards.  Those sometimes cause the smack the steering wheel affect because you saw it coming.

Then there are those potholes that have united into a long stream of a groove that catches the tire along the way and makes you sit lopsided in the car.

What about those potholes that could swallow your car and sometimes do.  A lot of times those are the ones that appear out of no where in the dark and just suck the life out of you when you hit it.  It does a lot of damage and even sometimes causes a stop for a while at that place until repairs can be made.

We encounter those potholes daily.  Maybe not all of them, and prayerfully not the deep painful ones very often.  This said to say, when I keep thinking I have had enough potholes in a day and I’m giving myself the, “I can’t go on” pity party, the 2×4 is wielded and He says, “My grace is sufficient.”  2 Corinthians 12:9
